§ Mr. Roy Jenkinsasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what consideration he is giving to raising the rateable value limitation on home improvement grants in Glasgow for pre-1914 tenemental properties.
§ Mr. YoungerI have received requests from both Edinburgh and Glasgow district councils for action to be taken to increase rateable value limits in this particular context. Any such increase would require the making of a statutory instrument subject to negative resolution. I shall be letting both councils have my response shortly and shall inform the right hon. Member of our proposals as regards Glasgow.
