§ Mr. Walter Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for Transport whether he intends to give any directions, advice or guidance to the British Railways Board, or expects to be consulted by it, over which tender or tenders for its hotels to accept; and whether the British Railways Board is free in making a decision on which tender or tenders to accept to take account of which prospective purchaser or purchasers are most likely to provide the hotels' staffs with a secure future.
§ Mr. EyreThe decision on the acceptance of tenders is entirely a matter for the Railways Board with the assistance of its financial advisers, and my right hon. Friend does not expect to be consulted.
