Mr. R. C. Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for Transport when he now expects a final decision to be made on the route of the A33 trunk road south of Bar End, Winchester.
§ Mrs. ChalkerI announced on 16 February that I was inviting the views of the public on our consultants' recommendations for improving this important road. The timing of a final decision will depend on the outcome of this consultation and the completion of the necessary design work and statutory procedures. Subject to these important qualifications, I would hope that construction could start in 1985.
