HC Deb 30 November 1982 vol 33 cc161-2W
Mr. Mason

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will ensure full consultation with the National Anglers Council before he accepts the canal rod and holiday angling licence recommendations contained in the Inbucon management consultant's report.

Mr. Giles Shaw

I have already invited the inland waterways amenity advisory council to comment on the Inbucon recommendations. On this particular issue, I would expect the two angling representatives on the council to gather comments from appropriate organisations concerned with angling.

Mr. Mason

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will ensure that the British Waterways Board fully consults angling organisations within each of its regions on the recommendations contained in the Inbucon management consultant's report on matters of canal rod licences and holiday angling licences; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Giles Shaw

The British Waterways Board is required to consult the inland waterways amenity advisory council on matters of this kind. On this particular issue, I would expect the two angling representives on IWAAC to gather comments from appropriate organisations concerned with angling.
