asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the increase in local authority capital spending, net of any authorised by the use of local authorities' own capital receipts, that he is anticipating in 1983–84 compared with his original provision for 1982–83, net of any authorised by local authorities' own capital receipts.

Mr. Heseltine

[pursuant to his reply, 23 November 1982, c. 477]: The amount available for allocation to local authorities for capital expenditure on the services for which I am responsible in 1983–84 will be £2,401 million, compared with an original figure for 1982–83 of £2,388 million.
