HL Deb 12 May 1982 vol 430 cc303-4WA
Lord Melchett

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many sites are being considered for protection under Article 4 of Directive 79/409/EEC, and whether any of the sites under consideration are in the Western Isles.

The Earl of Avon

All sites of significance to birds in relation to Article 4 of the directive are being reviewed by the Government on the advice of the NCC to ascertain their suitability for notification. A number of these are in the Western Isles. I will, in due course, place a copy of the initial list, and any subsequent lists, of notified sites in the Library of the House.
