HL Deb 12 May 1982 vol 430 c304WA
Lord Melchett

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How long discussions have been in progress between the Nature Conservancy Council (NCC) and other parties involved concerning the 1,400 hectares of land at Rothiemurchus in Scotland considered by the NCC to be of SSSI status, and when the NCC first realised that this land did meet the NCC's SSSI criteria.

The Earl of Avon

Discussions about the 1,400 hectares between the NCC and other parties involved have been in progress since 1980. The potential of the land in question for being notified as an SSSI was perceived in 1977.

House adjourned at twenty-seven minutes before nine o'clock.
