§ 23. Mr. Christopher Priceasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will now publish guidelines setting out the extent to which Her Majesty's Inspectors of Schools are independent of him and the extent to which they are subject to his directions.
§ Sir Keith JosephThe policy statement which, following the Rayner scrutiny of Her Majesty's Inspectorate, I intend to publish later this year will, among other matters, set out the relationship of HMI to the Secretary of State for Education and Science.
