asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether revisions are to be made to the grounds on which outpatients are allowed ambulance travel; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend has received the report of the National Health Service working party on patient transport services which was published by the Trent regional health authority last month. Decisions on the working party's recommendations will be taken in the light of the views of those we have consulted about the report.
