§ Mr. Alexander asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what percentage of domestic ratepayers in the United Kingdom do not pay full general rates by reason of rate rebate relief.
§ Mr. King:It is estimated that 16 per cent. of domestic ratepayers received a rate rebate in the financial year 1980–81. A further 12 per cent. had their rates taken into account in supplementary benefit payments.
