HC Deb 26 October 1981 vol 10 c291W

Mr. Alexander asked the Secretry of State for the Environment what is the proportion of general rates in the United Kingdom which is paid by domestic ratepayers.

Mr. King:

It is estimated that 44 per cent. of local authorities' rate income is paid by domestic ratepayers—before allowance for rent rebates—based on rate poundages set at April 1981.
