HC Deb 19 October 1981 vol 10 c16W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many men aged 60 years and over are registered with each unemployment benefit office in Birmingham; and how many of these are in receipt of supplementary benefit.

Mr. Alison:

This information is not available for individual unemployment benefit offices and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. But it is estimated that for the Birmingham travel-to-work-area as a whole about 7,990 men aged 60 or over are claiming benefit, of whom about 2,220 are receiving supplementary benefit.
