§ Mr. Rookerasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many men aged 60 years and over are registered with each unemployment benefit office in Birmingham; and how many of these are in receipt of supplementary benefit.
§ Mr. Alison:This information is not available for individual unemployment benefit offices and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. But it is estimated that for the Birmingham travel-to-work-area as a whole about 7,990 men aged 60 or over are claiming benefit, of whom about 2,220 are receiving supplementary benefit.
