asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will bring up to date the figure quoted by the Manpower Services Commission in its report entitled "Review of Services for the Unemployed", that each additional 100,000 registered unemployed costs about £300 million per annum at 1979–80 prices in transfer payments and revenues forgone.
