When they completed the review of current guidance to the police about the reporting of convictions by the police of persons who are liable to deportation, and how soon they expect to be able to announce the new guidance on this matter to Parliament.

The outcome of the review is contained in Home Office Circular 104/1981, a copy of which is in the Library, and which gives chief officers of police new guidance about the circumstances in which reports should be made to the Home Office.
