§ 26. Mr. McQuarrieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has any plans to meet the fish processing organisations in Scotland to discuss the processing and marketing of herring which will be caught during 1981.
§ Mr. YoungerNo decision has yet been taken on the reopening of the major herring fisheries. Departments have, however, already met the industry, including the fish processing organisations, to discuss on a provisional basis possible management arrangements and the implications for marketing and processing in the event of the fisheries being re-opened. A further meeting with the processors is to take place on 19 June.
