§ Mr. MayhewThe provision and improvement of television coverage is primarily the responsibility of the BBC and the IBA, which are co-operating on the construction of the UHF transmitter network. Phase II of their engineering programme will extend coverage to communities with a population of 500 or more, and should be completed by about 1984. The question of public funds does not arise.
