§ Mr. Ernie Rossasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will publish in the Official Report a list of bans under section 3 of the Public Order Act 1936 since 23 March 1981, giving date, location, length of ban and class of procession banned.
§ Mr. WhitelawThe information requested for England and Wales is that on 25 April two orders were made banning for 28 days in the Metropolitan Police district and the City of London respectively all public processions other than those traditionally held on 1 May to celebrate May Day and those of a religious character customarily held. For information about banning orders in force on but made before 23 March, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave to a question by the hon. Member for Islington, South and Finsbury (Mr. Cunningham) on 8 April. [Vol. 2, c.272.]
