HC Deb 31 July 1981 vol 9 c542W
Mr. Deakins

asked the Secretary of State for Defence which North Atlantic Treaty Organisation countries do not allow nuclear weapons to be stockpiled or based in their territories.

Mr. Blaker

Public statement of their policies towards the stationing of nuclear weapons in their territories is a matter for the Governments of individual NATO countries. However, I can say that, as part of their policy of maintaining a "Nordic balance", Norway and Denmark have a long-standing declared policy of not allowing nuclear weapons to be stockpiled in their territories in peacetime.
