§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkePart of the major maintenance scheme now in progress on the M18 will mean directing all southbound traffic onto the northbound carriageway. Because of the traffic entering the motorway from the A614, it was considered safer to merge this traffic at the roundabout rather than on the motorway. The temporary diversion of all southbound traffic to the motorway exit and the A614 roundabout justifies the use of traffic lights.
