§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeFollowing reporting arrangements under regulations made under the Petroleum (Consolidation) Act 1928, one accident involving injury was notified in 1978, one in 1979 and two (one fatal) in 1980. Since 1 January 1981, there have been more comprehensive reporting arrangements under the Notification of Accidents and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1980, and 13 incidents involving three injuries have been notified. Although they are under no obligation to do so local authorities notified the Health and Safety Executive of 18 prosecutions under the 1928 Act regulations in 1980. There were 17 convictions.
