HC Deb 13 January 1981 vol 996 cc497-8W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he is satisfied that the accounts of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive for the year ended 31 March 1979 were prepared in accordance with the financial arrangements contained in the Housing Finance (N.I.) Order 1977, and, in particular, with the decision not to allocate travelling, subsistence and car expenses to the appropriate divisions: administration, finances, development and housing management.

Mr. David Mitchell

The abstract of the accounts of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive for the year ended 31 March 1979 is contained in Cmnd. 7963 in the form directed under article 11(2)(a) of the Housing Finance (Northern Ireland) Order 1977.

In relation to the second part of the Hon. Member's question, I draw his attention to the accounts, and in particular to statement 1, which shows that of the total sum of £671,886 for travelling, subsistence and car expenses, £488,081 for was recharged to capital projects being the portion attributable to staff of the development division. The balance of costs is borne on the Executive's General Housing Account and is not reallocated between divisions.
