§ Mr. Dobsonasked the Secretary of State Northern Ireland what is the method of allocation to local authorities of the rate fund contribution of the electricity supply, water supply, gas supply, coal mining, petroleum production and refining and railway industries, giving details of the sums received from each industry by each local authority and where appropriate giving details of what the sums received by each local authority would be if they were based solely on the rateable value of hereditaments occupied by each industry in the area of each local authority.
§ Mr. AlisonThe methods of allocating the rate fund contributions of electricity supply, gas supply and railway undertakings are described in schedule 12 to the Rates (Northern Ireland) Order 1977. Rate fund contributions from hereditaments associated with water supply are allocated in proportion to the consumption of water in the respective district council areas. Rate fund contributions in respect of mining and petroleum production and refining are allocated according to the rateable value of the hereditaments occupied by each industry in the respective district council areas.
