HC Deb 27 October 1980 vol 991 c76W
Mr. Roper

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) whether it is possible to analyse information on visas granted into categories; and, if so, for which categories information is available;

(2) if he will publish in the Official Report a table showing, for each of the last 10 years, and for each country, the number of visas issued by the British authorities to citizens of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Rumania, Hungary, Bulgaria and Albania.

Mr. Raison:

Statistics on-visas issued are not collected, but the "Control of Immigration Statistics" published each year contain information about the number of passengers from foreign countries admitted to the United Kingdom. categorised by nationality and purpose of visit.
