asked the Solicitor-General for Scotland whether he will introduce new legislation on the law of diligence in Scotland, in view of the recent report of the Scottish Law Commission.

Not at this stage. The five memoranda on diligence recently published by the Scottish Law Commission are intended for general comment and criticism. The Government would wish to have the benefit of the views of as wide a variety of interests as possible before deciding what form any possible legislation might take.
