HC Deb 13 November 1980 vol 992 c271W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Solicitor-General for Scotland if he will outline any policy guidelines from his Department to police forces regarding prosecutions for illegal use of open channel radio in Scotland.

The Solicitor-General for Scotland

No policy guidelines have been issued from Crown Office to police forces regarding prosecutions for illegal use of open channel radio in Scotland. The question of whether or not the users of such equipment should be prosecuted for contraventions of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949 is considered by procurators fiscal in the normal way.
