HC Deb 13 November 1980 vol 992 cc271-2W
Mr. Ancram

asked the Solicitor-General for Scotland to what extent the cash limit for the Lord Advocate's Law Charges Vote had been exceeded in 1979–80; and what effect this has had on his cash limits for the year 1980–81.

The Solicitor-General for Scotland

The 1979–80 cash limit for the Administration of Justice; Law Charges, Scotland class IX, vote 14 was exceeded by £158,742. This overspend will be partly compensated by a reduction of £25,000 in the Lord Advocate's 1980–81 cash limit on class IX, vote 17, Administration of Justice, Law Charges, Scotland, and, as already announced by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland, the balance will be taken into account and adjustments made to his 1980–81 cash limit on class IX, vote 11, Law Order and Protective Services (Central Support and Other Services) Scotland.
