HL Deb 17 March 1980 vol 407 cc154-5WA
Lord AVEBURY

to ask Her Majesty's Government:

What advice they have given to British Airways regarding the acceptance of bookings by passengers holding travel documents issued by"The Transkei ", an entity not recognised as a sovereign State by Her Majesty's Government.

Lord BELSTEAD

None formally. The position is that these documents are not acceptable for United Kingdom immigration control purposes as evidence of identity and nationality or as valid passports.
