HC Deb 13 March 1980 vol 980 c701W
43. Mr. Marland

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list the food index increases which resulted from the agricultural price reviews of 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979, respectively.

Mr. Peter Walker

It is not possible to estimate in retrospect to what extent food price increases which occurred after CAP price-fixing settlements resulted from those settlements or arose for other reasons.

In the period of the previous Administration, food prices rose by just over 120 per cent. My predecessor calculated that out of an increase of 110 per cent. which had occurred, 10 per cent. was due to CAP prices.
