asked the Secretary of State for Trade what has been the value of imports into the United Kingdom over each of the past four years; and what is the corresponding value of exports in each case.

Mr. Parkinson

In 1979 the value of imports into the United Kingdom was £44,001 million; and the value of United Kingdom exports was £40,689 million.
