HC Deb 19 June 1980 vol 986 c661W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he will give an assurance that the admitted error in the Clegg report on teachers' pay will not affect the full application of the results to Northern Ireland teachers without loss of comparability with their Great Britain counterparts.

Mr. Goodhart

It is the intention of the Department of Education to make regulations to prescribe for teachers in Northern Ireland the same scales of salary as are finally implemented for qualified teachers in England and Wales as a result of the Clegg report.
