§ Mr. Cryerasked the Minister of Transport whether radioactive materials derived from or for use for nuclear power electricity generation pass through Keighley either by road or rail; and what precautions are taken against accidents in both cases.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeOperational arrangements for the transport of such materials by rail is a matter for the British Railways Board. I am, however, informed that very few consignments pass through Keighley by rail, and I am not aware that there have been any by road. The Railways Board follows the normal stringent safety precautions applicable to the transport of all such materials.
