asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many goods were seized in 1979 and the first six months of the current year by the team of Customs officials engaged on investigating and preventing textile goods illegally entering the United Kingdom; what was the value of the goods seized for each period; how many Customs officers are in this special team; whether his Department is satisfied with the effectiveness of this special unit; and if he will make a statement.
