HC Deb 19 December 1980 vol 996 c354W
Mr. Stuart Holland

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the discounting of the forensic evidence in the Birmingham pub bombing case of 1974 by its inventor, of expert medical evidence that injuries to the men concerned were most likely sustained in police custody, and the suspicion surrounding certain witnesses as to their motives, he will take steps to reopen the cases of Patrick Joseph Hill, John Walker, Robert Gerard Hunter, Noel Richard McIlkenny, Hugh Callaghan and William Power.

Mr. Brittan

We are not aware of anything related to the matters mentioned by the hon. Member that would justify us in taking any action in these cases.
