HC Deb 17 December 1980 vol 996 c214W
53. Mr. Farr

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he intends to take following the refusal of the Leicester city council to sell council houses.

Mr. Stanley

The Department has written to Leicester city council about the legal and financial implications of its resolution. If we receive indications that tenants in Leicester are unable to exercise their right to buy effectively and expeditiously, we shall consider what further action to take.
