§ Mr. John Carlisleasked the Lord Privy Seal if he will seek an urgent meeting with the chairman of the British Olympic Committee to ask him to reconsider his committee's intention to send a team to Moscow in view of the recent developments in the United States of America and Europe.
§ Mr. HurdNo. Sir Denis Follows will be well aware of the Government's views from recent exchanges in the House. We hope that the British Olympic Association will agree that the situation has changed in the light of the decisive vote of the United States Olympic Committee on 12 April not to send a team to Moscow, and will wish to reconsider its decision.
§ Mr. John Carlisleasked the Lord Privy Seal if he has been in communication with those black African countries which originally declared that they would not attend the Olympic Games if a British Isles rugby team went to South Africa.
§ Mr. BlakerThere has been no formal discussion of this subject between Her Majesty's Government and the Governments of these countries. The Supreme Council for Sport in Africa announced in Yaounde in December 1979 that its members did not propose to boycott the Moscow Olympics on account of the proposed British Lions tour.
