HC Deb 21 April 1980 vol 983 cc37-8W
Mr. John Carlisle

asked the Lord Privy Seal if he will make representations to the Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics about their refusal to hold the Paraplegic Games in Moscow.

Mr. Blaker

The Soviet Union showed no interest in holding these games when approached some 18 months ago. Subsequently the Netherlands offered to stage them. It would be inappropriate now for the Government to make representations on the subject.
