HL Deb 29 November 1979 vol 403 c566WA
Lord WHADDON

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What training is given to medical students on the procedures to be followed by doctors for maximising the opportunities for increasing the supply of donor organs.

The MINISTER of STATE, DEPARTMENT of EDUCATION and SCIENCE (Baroness Young)

University medical schools are in general very much aware of developments in transplant surgery and of the need for donors. However, detailed information on particular matters relating to the curriculum of these schools, which are essentially the responsibility of the schools themselves, is not readily available.
