asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he collates the numbers of doctors receiving post-graduate training in various medical specialties; and whether he will publish such information for any recent appropriate period.

Yes. Copies of the Department's national tables showing the distribution by grade and specialty of hospital medical staff in England and Wales at 30 September for the years 1977 and 1978 have been placed in the Library.
