HC Deb 04 April 1979 vol 965 c905W
Mr. Dykes

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services to what extent he expects spending in the National Health Service in 1979–80 to be affected by prevailing budgetary and public spending constraints; and what he estimates this may mean on the quality of services.

Mr. Ennals

Health authorities are expected, as in previous years, to control their spending within their cash limits. I look forward to an improvement in the standard of services.
