§ Mr. Dodsworthasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he is satisfied with the law relating to the carrying of overhanging loads by small lorries; and if he proposes to make any changes.
§ Mr. HoramRestrictions and conditions on the carrying of overhanging loads are imposed by Regulation 140 of the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations. In addition, Regulation 97 requires that loads are properly secured. We are not aware of any defects in these provisions, but we are willing to look into any evidence of difficulty.
