HC Deb 04 April 1979 vol 965 c889W
Sir Anthony Royle

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will call a meeting forthwith of representatives from the Greater London Council, Richmond on Thames council, the police and Petersham citizen's committee in order to reach decisions on instituting a weight limit and to discuss other matters following the collapse of the Petersham Road for the second time in 1979 thereby cutting off Ham and Petersham from Richmond and main trunk routes.

Mr. Horam

This is a matter for the Greater London Council as highway and traffic authority for Petersham Road, and it would not be appropriate for me to intervene.
