HC Deb 03 April 1979 vol 965 c665W
Mr. David Steel

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his latest estimate of the date of (a) tenders and (b) the start to construction of the new Borders district general hospital at Huntlyburn.

Mr. Millan

I am informed by the Borders health board that the target date for going to tender for this scheme is now in the latter part of 1981. Allowing the normal period for receipt and examination of tenders, construction should start some six months thereafter. The contract for the access road to the hospital has now been let; work on site will start shortly.
