§ Mr. Sproatasked the Secretary of State for Employment what has been the total cost of running the industrial tribunals, including all main constituent costs of any sort whatsoever, such as expenditure on their own programmes, wages, rent, heating and lighting, maintenance, etc., in the latest 12 months for which figures are available; and what are the projected costs for 1978–79.
§ Mr. John GrantExpenditure on salaries, fees and directly related expenses are estimated to have cost £4,731,000 in 1977–78 and to cost £5,262,000 in 1978–79. Superannuation, accommodation, printing and stationery, etc. are provided without charge as an allied service; on average they would be likely to increase the direct expenditure by about 60 per cent.
