HC Deb 23 March 1978 vol 946 cc689-90W
Mr. Ian Lloyd

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps he is taking to ensure that recognised terrorist leaders are not under any circumstances given VIP treatment at London Airport, or any other British sea or airport, whether visiting the United Kingdom for the purpose of discussions with Her Majesty's Ministers or otherwise.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

Rules laid before Parliament set out the practice to be followed in giving leave to enter the United Kingdom, but the treatment thereafter afforded to a person who has been given leave to enter or who has a right of entry is not one that falls to be dealt with under the Immigration Act 1971 nor is it a matter for which I am in any other way responsible.
