HC Deb 23 March 1978 vol 946 cc783-4W
Mr. Monro

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the cash allocation available to the Manpower Services Commission in Scotland, region by region, for 1978–79.

Mr. Golding,

pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 13th March 1978; Vol. 946, c. 70], gave the following information:

The Department of Employment estimate of expenditure in 1978–79, which includes details of the grant-in-aid to the Manpower Services Commission, was published on 17th March 1978.

The estimates show the costs of MSC services in Scotland, where they can be readily identified, but not those which form part of services operating in Great Britain as a whole, which cannot be apportioned territorially. Though budgets for special programmes have been allocated for planning purposes to area boards it is not the practice to compile estimates regionally either in Scotland or elsewhere.
