Bennettasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement before the House rises on progress towards a ban on the 37W export of live animals for slaughter, including whether he has yet received the new proposals from the European Commission concerning intra-Community trade in live food animals.
§ Mr. StrangAs explained in a reply given to my hon. Friend the Member for Hemel Hempstead (Mr. Corbett) on 20th July—[Vol. 594, c. 762–765]—my right hon. Friend the Minister is considering representations on the report on the export of live food animals. There is nothing further that I can add at present.
