HC Deb 30 January 1978 vol 943 cc51-2W
Mr. Hoyle

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will give advice and make funds available to regional and area health authorities with a view to their offering for the following health facilities of Allied Investments: Nestor Nursina, Homes Ltd., Champeneys (Tring) Ltd., Tricehurst Private Clinic Ltd., British Nursing Co-operatives Ltd., Allied International Medical Services Ltd., Liverpool Locums Ltd., Birmingham Locums Ltd., Allied Medical Management Ltd., Cardiac Rehabilitation Centres Ltd. and Thistle Trained Nurses Ltd.

Mr. Moyle

No, for the reasons mentioned in my answer to my hon. Friend on 17th January—[Vol. 942, c. 167–8]—and because my Department retains no funds earmarked for such a purpose.

Mr. Hoyle

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what considerations he had regard to in concluding that a directive to the National Enterprise Board to dispose of the private health interests in the United Kingdom of Allied Investments was unnecessary.

Mr. Moyle

This is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Industry.
