HC Deb 13 April 1978 vol 947 c510W
20. Mr. Hardy

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list the positive measures taken to safeguard the interests of the minority in Northern Ireland during the last six months.

Mr. Mason

The Government attach paramount importance to protecting the rights of all sections of the community in Northern Ireland. I have not thought it necessary to take any special measures during the past six months; but legislation which affects the rights of the people of Northern Ireland is kept under constant review and I shall not hesitate to introduce new measures if I believe them to be necessary.
