HC Deb 26 October 1977 vol 936 c686W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Minister for the Civil Service whether he will publish a detailed list of appointments, full and part time, where any Treasury funds are paid to Members of the House of Lords at 1st October 1977, together with the amounts received by each of these Peers and, where part-time appointments are concerned, the number of hours per week given to these appointments.

Mr. Charles R. Morris:

As I have repeatedly made clear to my hon. Friend —[Vol. 936, c. 225–6 and c. 182; Vol. 914, c. 103 and c. 558–9]—my Department does not maintain this information centrally.

Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Minister for the Civil Service whether he will introduce the necessary legislation to seek to prevent Members of the House of Lords from holding office of profit under the Crown on the same basis as Members of the House of Commons.

Mr. Charles R. Morris:

There are no plans contemplated for legislation such as my hon. Friend suggests.
