HC Deb 26 October 1977 vol 936 cc685-6W
Mr. Brocklebank-Fowler

asked the Minister for the Civil Service when civilian police officers in the Ministry of Defence of the rank of Assistant Chief Constable and above last received a pay increase.

Mr. Charles R. Morris:

A Phase II settlement was implemented with effect from 1st September 1976. The Government have now told the Chief Police Officers' Association that the anomaly which has affected the pay of Ministry of Defence chief police officers since 1st September 1975, can be corrected in full with effect from 1st September 1977 as part of the annual settlement due on that date. Negotiations over that settlement have not yet begun, because they are indirectly consequential on whatever settlement is reached for the Home Departments' police forces.
